Historical Provenance
Captain John David Eaton graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in June 1944. Over his career, he commanded several submarines including the USS Toro and USS Rock, served aboard the USS Canopus, and led Submarine Squadron 2 until his retirement in 1974. He also held key assignments within Naval Forces Vietnam in the late 1960s.
His awards include two Legions of Merit, the Presidential Unit Citation, and campaign medals for World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
